A perfect time to view the foliage of their beautiful forest while experiencing life in a 1790’s colonial village. Enjoy bateau rides, wagon rides, making homemade cedar shakes, and fresh pressed cider and more.
Leonard’s Mills: Saturday, September 12 (10am - 3pm)
Join the New England Blacksmiths for some fancy forging. The morning includes training by a master blacksmith. The afternoon offers demonstrations in the yard. Visitors get a chance to try their hand at this craft.
Lumbering in the Maine Woods: Men and Their Machines
Saturday, August 15 (10am - 3pm)
Chronological demonstrations of Maine’s forest history from the 1600’s up to the present day. See many machines of the lumbering trade in action.
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Step back in time to the 1790’s as the colonial village comes alive. Colonial era spinning, candlemaking, wood working, trapping, blacksmithing, and many more traditional activities are demonstrated. Come try some bean-hole beans and take an old-fashioned horse drawn wagon ride and participate in hands-on activities.

Children are invited to participate in period-appropriate activities to learn what life was like in the 1790’s before electricity. Registration is required!
