When I was first beginning my couponing journey, I found this wonderful product called The Couponizer. It is a sturdy, spiral bound book with a generous pocket on each page to store your coupons. Oh, and did I mention that the book is sorted by categories?!

From their website:

The entire 6 piece system includes:

The Couponizer® – 8″ x 5¼” booklet with 18 grocery coupon pockets, 4 generic
coupon pockets, 3 gift card/shopper loyalty sleeves, shopping pockets

Shopping List – 20 page tear off list pad with cardboard backing

CoupStacker – Pre-sorting mat color coded to match the system pockets

CoupTracker – 15 page spiral bound list pad with cardboard backing

Scissors – blunt tip

Carrying Bag – clear vinyl zippered bag

I loved this product so much that I bought one for my sister in law, who also coupons. Both she and I have noticed an increase in our savings from using The Couponizer! And at $10.00, it won’t take long for your savings to totally pay for this amazing organizing tool!

I just became aware of a program called Read It Forward. Crown Publishing, by Random House Publishers, offers readers a chance to win one of 3 free uncorrected proofs once a month. This is simply an uncorrected paperback copy of the book. You simply enter your name and address for a random chance to receive one. Supplies are limited.

I received 2 books this week! “Claude & Camille” by Stephanie Cowell, and “The California Roll” by John Vorhaus. I just finished “The California Roll” and it was such a joy to read! A con man gets conned by a con within a con. I’m going to have to read it again to really sort out what happened (which is great for me, since I always read books twice)! The author invents words, such as “bafflegab,” which is the con man’s pitch to the victim, or “smook.” I just started reading “Claude & Camille.” So far, I am enjoying it. Claude is Claude Monet, and the story details both his struggle to become accepted in the art world, and his love for a woman named Camille. Both books are beautifully written, and both may have been overlooked by me in either the library or bookstore, since the topics aren’t usually ones I seek out. For this, I am glad! Through the Read It Forward program, I have already been exposed to two new styles of writing and two new authors!

Once I’m done with these wonderful, free books, I am going to Read It Forward by sharing them with another friend of mine who loves a good read.

Check it out here!

The Home Depot’s Kids Workshops offer useful projects including the creation of toolboxes, fire trucks and mail organizers, as well as more educational projects, such as a window birdhouse, bughouse or Declaration of Independence frame kit.

The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children.

In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates’ aprons, and an achievement pin.
