Walgreens (Wags) is one of my favorite stores! Walgreens offers you many ways to save large amounts of money, and often get items for free! This works really well when you have multiple coupons for an item and can use the sale to stock up.  Stick with MainelyMom.Com and I will show you how I shop Walgreens and save!

Manufacturer’s Coupons:

• Are accepted at face value.  Walgreens does not double.

Walgreens 7 Day Coupon:

• Found either online, or in the sales flyer. At my Walgreens stores, I don’t cut out the coupons. I simply have the cashier scan the flyer. If in doubt about your Wags, ask.
• Walgreens is special, because they allow you to  “stack” these 7 day coupons with a manufacturer’s coupon (mfc) for even greater savings!
• Occasionally, there will be times when the combination of mfc and 7 day coupons results in an overage.   As long as I have other items (fillers) in my order, my Walgreens stores allow this overage.  But to be on the safe side, always offer the mfc before the Wags 7 day coupon.

Register Rewards:

• Register Rewards (RR) are essentially instant store rebates.  They are advertised in the flyer and online.
• If an advertised item prints a RR, it will only print ONE RR for that item purchased in a single transaction even if you buy multiple items in the same transaction.  For example, if Colgate toothpaste is generating a RR, I can only buy one Colgate toothpaste at a time to get the RRs.  If I buy 2 Colgate toothpastes in the same transaction, it will only print out one RR.   The cashiers at my Walgreens are very good about letting me do multiple transactions to take advantage of the RR deals.
• You can purchase different items each producing RRs in the same transaction - as long as the items are not from the same manufacturer.  I could not purchase a Colgate toothbrush and Colgate toothpaste in the same transaction and have both RRs print out, because each item is from the same manufacturer.  If in doubt, do separate transactions.
• RRs are valid for 2 weeks after they print.
• When redeeming a RR, keep in mind that they are mfcs.  The number of items you are purchasing must be equal to or greater than the number of mfcs you are redeeming. Wags 7 day store coupons do NOT count toward this coupon total!
• RRs do not “roll.”  This means that if you buy toothpaste (for example) for $2.49 and receive a RR for $2.49 (making the toothpaste free), you CANNOT use this RR to purchase more toothpaste  of the same brand and receive another RR for it.  RRs MUST be redeemed on products from a different manufacturer - in the example above, if you bought Colgate toothpaste, you cannot use the Colgate RR to purchase a Colgate toothbrush.

Interent Printables (IP):

• Walgreens will accept IPs.  They cannot be combined with mfc, as they ARE mfc.

Buy One Get One Free sales  (Bogo):

• At my Wags, if an item is on sale BOGO, you can use 2 mfcs for additional savings.  This may vary depending on individual stores, and even individual cashiers in each store.  I have built relationships with my Wags employees, and these transactions always go through without a hitch for me.
• If the item is BOGO and there is a 7 day coupon available, the 7 day coupon will work for both items.  Again, ymmv (your mileage may vary) depending on your store/ employee.
